I think the problem with your solution is that trySomethingElse won't have access to the users variable unless the filterUsersWithFriends rejection explicitly passes it through.

Agreed. I was struck by the same line, "cracked out of their minds"... very biased. I don't know if "abuse" used to have a coherent meaning, but these days it boils down to "used in a way I don't like"

Hey 'dang, why is this so far down the front page? Is it because people flagged it? I feel like there's some very good discussion here. Edit: Uhh... I was downvoted for asking this? Depressing.

Looking at Kangax's support table: http://kangax.github.io/compat-table/esnext/#test-async_func... Apparently Microsoft Edge seems to have been the first browser to implement it... good job Microsoft!

Thanks for the reply, but this still doesn't clarify anything... what is "behavioral and psychological toxicity"? I was under the impression that the "bad consequences" of these drugs was the risk of damage to the b

Just FYI, your comment got flagged but I vouched it. I think these little fragments of appreciation should be okay on HN. Sometimes an upvote just isn't enough.

What makes this even sadder is that it was done for what... to prevent someone from bringing controlled substances into the US? Who cares? Yet another bullshit consequence of the War on Drugs.

That does seem to be the conventional wisdom. But it's a bit contradictory, don't you think? I mean, crippling depression already ruins your life, and suicide... well, that's the ultimate life-ruiner. Opioid replacement thera
