> GOG is in bed with Amazon. Is that criticism? Because from your comment, so are you. You pay Amazon, and GOG gives you free games. I refuse to give any money to Amazon, but gladly pay GOG.

GOG does not support Linux, and Steam does, but the Heroic launcher is great for running GOG or Epic games on Linux. And if that doesn't work, you can still import the game into Linux, while also still owning it independently from the

Steam's massive investment into Linux support has gained them an incredibly amount of goodwill in the Linux community. Before Steam started supporting Linux, playing Windows games on Linux was incredibly unreliable and buggy. Now, almo

Absolutely. That's the direction we need to go. And ideally, the rest of the world too. But having this EU-wide, will encourage more webshops outside the EU to also support it.

Ridiculous that a few large corporations get to decide this. The only people who have any business deciding what content is or isn't allowed on someone else's platform, are the People, or their representatives in government. I can

The idea is that you should consider the area around the notch to be extra, and not part of the normal screen. Show your game on the rectangular part of the screen, and use the extras for stuff that doesn't need the whole screen, like

History aside, what are the technical merits of Vulkan vs Metal vs D3D? Wouldn't it make sense to simply implement the technically best solution everywhere?

I've often wondered about that, because I often see them used interchangeably (and not just here). But you're absolutely right. Here's a random site I found that explains it: https://www.difference.wiki/bevel-

Censorship has always been more of a conservative thing. But really more of an authoritarian thing, once you manage to get your head out of one-dimensional political thinking. But if you want left-right, "helping the poor and disenfran

Sounds like the EUIPO isn't following its own rules. I wonder if there might be some corruption going on that might be addressed. It's certainly a ridiculous and dangerous ruling.

More specifically, for the past 40 years, the US government has mostly been focused on increasing the power of corporations. It has reduced the government's power where it limits corporations, but increased it where it limits people.

In fact, I'd go a step further and note the similarity with organized religion. People have a tendency to organize and dogmatize everything. The problem with religion is rarely the core ideas, but always the desire to use it as a basis

Same thing. Maybe this doesn't make the double promise quite as visible, but it's still a double promise. You could probably replace the other await with a .then() too.

I still question your claims of cause and effect here. The US abandoned this well before the USSR had fallen, and the reason the rest of Europe followed suit was not the fall of the USSR, but merely because they were blindly following the U

This is all very good news. I just got an alert about a vulnerability in a dependency of axios (it's an older project). Getting rid of these dependencies is a much more attractive solution than merely upgrading them.
