Ive heard someone saying that, Microsoft or Oracle already has hundreds of those 10x engineers for decades now, and what they produce is... current Microsoft and Oracle.

If the first 5 layers are translator to "universal language", now I'm curious, if we repeat this layer several times, would it converge?

I tried it when it has the most extensive free offering, and it definitely answers my worldbuilding questions in more detail than I expected and compared to Gemini or Chatgpt. Can't say anything about hallucinations tho.

Is it unusually rich for any region that big? I don't actually know, but it'd be interesting to see a comparison to another similarly sized country.

Ah thanks I missed that part. So it IS deterministic and (pseudo-)random.

Wait, deterministic? I thought it shuffled random cards and then have LLM construct narrative out of that?

This same blog really chastises that statement and tries to debunk it. I don't really see anything wrong with that article so until then, I guess I believe airpower can never win a war https://acoup.blog/2022/10&#x

I mean looks like booth capture can only capture a booth at most and to capture more you practically need armed rebellion. But if we automate it, then you only need to capture a location to capture all booths in the region.

I thought it was getting increasingly disadvantageous and on the way out, then cotton mill suddenly make it advantageous again, recementing slavery.

From the article, it seems like even if we only consider one dimension, there'd be ~70% of pilots that are uncomfortable. I'd have thought to at least cover 1 standard deviation, thus covering 68% of "average" pilots. Bu

For all the grievances people made against food pyramid, this is actually the real reason why it was instituted. Meat has always been expensive, and with limited money people had, they'd rather spend it all on grains and save the money

There has been way less terrorism in general too. I'm always curious whether the war on terrorism is that effective, or there's major socioeconomic factor that matters most (or there's just less lead in the air).

I really appreciate this article. It continues some series of introspection [1] that emphasizes a part of game that's ironically very underrated, gameplay . A game can be good not (just) because of its visuals (you can just see painti

Yeah I thought the point is not necessarily safety but to organize things so everyone can move faster. In some of my intersections everything runs fine without traffic light but once it gets crowded, someone comes down and organize things.

It's always ironic seeing Arab Spring in hindsight. I've seen western observers celebrating Arab countries society upheaval, when the very same thing will also happen to them in less than 10 years.

I feel the same. I found that blog from SSC/ACX and I still much prefer SSC/ACX despite gwern discussing topics that are much much more relevant to my interests (sw dev, Haskell, anime). I can't formulate why but your analysi

I wonder how correlated is this to how (un)contested California results are (?). I think the main test will be whenever a case like Bush vs Gore happens.

Yeah I think the funniest meme about impostor syndrome is "Am I even good enough to have impostor syndrome?". This is why I don't really subscribe to the Former Gifted Kid Syndrome myself despite having the symptoms (I think)

I heard that there's so many variants of string theory. All theories that have interesting low-energy predictions have lost to standard theory (see: SUSY experiments at LHC). Now we're left with high-energy ones which may actually

I actually am convinced that it does make Satan worshipping more popular or at least normalized. See: Tumblr. You can say whatever about whether it's good or bad or ironic, but it did happen.

ELO is relative. There's no reason why a GM ELO should be 2800 or 280 or 28000. So it's all decided by ELO of every other person. So if the ELO gain/loss calculation and audience of Lichess and chess.com are exactly the same,

Now I wonder why Israel didn't built something TSMC-tier. It doesn't really seem out of their capability and it'll gain them a lot of advantages especially geopolitically.

I'm sometimes still curious if EIC ever had a chance to take over UK. It's because I've heard someone claiming that they never had that chance. And this is used as a basis for an argument that corporations can never win again

I heard it's never intended to be the same since initial rating for Lichess and chess.com respectively is 1500 and 1200. So they should have 300 rating difference on average. Quite fitting with what the other commenter claims actually.

Funnily I've heard that one reason why obesity is prevalent is that we have too many variations of food. Seems like our hunger controller suspends satiety when we eat a food too much, but when we eat few of lots of different foods, i
