I don't disagree with the notion that people overreact to men around kids, but I think the article itself is just a lazy appeal to emotion, and not very well argued.

A BBC story from 2006? Stories from her friends? That's the best she's got? Would be nice to see a real article on this topic with actual analysis and data. Of course it's stupid to label all men as possible predators, but there's anothe

Sometimes the market works against you -- if the public bids stall out at a certain level, then one big buyer knows exactly what to pay. Private bid makes buyers guess against an idealized competitor.

It's a false emotional appeal. Would you answer a five minute survey for a cup of coffee? I wouldn't. But I'd spend 5 minutes to help someone.

There's not enough here to draw your own conclusions about the phone -- it is simply a personal reaction and reads as such. Better reviews are more detailed, and balance the pros and cons to make a recommendation one way or the other.

Never had a problem with T-Mobile service, and I've been midwest, southwest, and east coast. Haven't been to Georgia. I'm thinking about that phone too, but some of the features missing from Galaxy S (microSD slot) give me second thoughts.

What is fantastic and new is that these obvious things are documented and published, by people who are in a unique position to verify them. We all know North Korea is nuts, but it's news when their BFF China calls it a spoiled child. Then

This reminds me why I don't slashdot anymore. By the fourth comment there's an extensive argument over universal health care. EDIT: irony noted.

Thought it interesting how absurd the "Monica" situation seems, yet we often engage in essentially the same behavior ourselves. That just doesn't sound as good on a bumper sticker. EDIT: clarification

A little of both perhaps -- Americans like the simplicity their overlords provide. Except for some of the wackos at the fringes, it's all really political theater. Candidates say what they have to say to appeal to their "base" while they

We have evolved into a two-party system because it fills a need: convenience. When most don't bother to vote, and even fewer vote with a functioning knowledge of the candidates, there is no need for a third party. This makes things easy:
