BILL: Hi, Milton. What's going on? MILTON: I, I, I, I, I didn't receive my paycheck this week. BILL: Uh, you're gonna have to talk to Payroll about that.

The sympathy here for Enron executives is a tad nauseating. One can hardly tar government prosecutions as overzealous if the inherent issue is a vague statute.

We need ideas to replace oil or at least find safer ways to extract it -- this X-Prize model does not work in a crisis, especially when there are already credible strategies. There is not time to start from scratch, and BP sure as hell isn

Would probably make most sense if you were applying to a small organization where a senior person was doing the review. Otherwise it becomes 1) I don't like how this person looks or 2) this person is just using a picture to compensate for s

The research on this was probably done in a previous C&D -- all told C&Ds are a pretty cheap alternative if they help prevent litigation. When in doubt, C&D.

Now who's describing the cops on TV? :) I agree there are some real pricks out there -- only trying to say that lack of effort on a stolen laptop is not a good test case for laziness....

I agree with avoiding contact with the thief -- it's tempting to try some advanced tech solution, but lots can go wrong, including accusing innocent people. Have you talked to the hotel staff? I'm sure theft is something they are used to d

Sure there are lazy cops, but it's more of a risk/reward analysis. There's such a small chance of recovering the laptop, and since no violence involved, it's not worth the effort when the loss is relatively small, and there are crimes of g
