I use Cryptomator. https://cryptomator.org I'm not sure of the program's technical specs, but it is multi-platform, available on mobile, and is easy to use. I am able to have a shared set of secured documents with vari

My friend's friend moved to a new city. He invited 6 of his new coworkers over and asked them to bring a medium pizza from their favorite pizza place. This let him quickly find out which would be to his "go to" pizza joint wi

I would absolutely own an electric vehicle if I was part of a muti-car family. But, until electric is as easily and quick to refill on as gas (long road trips, etc) I would not own it as my only vehicle.

Wait. Your son is currently only in front of a screen for 30 minutes a day? Tha is pretty good, IMO. Heck, when I was 5 I was watching more TV than that.

For jeans and dress clothes, I would absolutely prefer custom tailored. T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, etc aren't worth the hassle. I would also stick with my Nikes/Jordans that are mass produced (I know exactly what size to get). I

When Pittsburgh's mayor is no longer elected in the Democratic primaries, I will be inclined to agree with you. Pittsburgh proper is still blue. There are red parts in Allegheny County, but that went blue last November too.

Any head injury in all sports (or not sports for that matter) are incredibly devastating. That being said, what happened to your cousin (I am sorry about that) is an anomaly in basketball. Most basketball injuries are to legs then hands

Depends on where you are from. In super blue Pittsburgh, not a chance on earth. Football will have to be nationally legisated against in order for its popularity to fall in Western PA. I am sure there are other, similar pockets in the count

I agree so much. At $75k/yr in my area, you would be able to live in a top 15 school district and go on a family vacation anually. I literally cannot conceptualize scraping by on $75k a year. That is just unfathomably expensive!

Agree. I actually subscribe to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette because of their sports beatwriters. I think they provide value to me. I would absolutely subscribe to other sports content that was of high quality and focused (mostly) on the team

I am convinced I love twitter as much as I do because I use it to do nothing but talk about sports. Twitter is incredible for sports and I talk to people from multiple countries and states about various teams. It is incredible.

Simmons has touched on that in the past. He talks a lot about some of what happened at Grantland, ESPN, and decisions he made re: The Ringer on the July 12, 2017 of the Bill Simmons Podcast titled, "Inside the Evolution of ESPN With Ji

Local newspapers and local talk radio still dominate local sports. Typically, the best-connected reporters are those for the local paper. Sports coverage is actually what drives me to subscribe to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

I have replaced ESPN with podcasts, individual national writers, SB Nation, local beat writers, the teams and leagues themsevles, and official highlights from YouTube. All of this is really easy with RSS. I rarely go to ESPN anymore except

Listening to Simmons over the last year, it is clear that part of Grantland's failure was being under the ESPN umbrella and not chasing what ESPN considered "small dollar" advertisements and partners. In a recent podcast, Sim

If I was a betting individual, DK Sports would be in the top 5 bets of things I would never see on Hacker News! Ha! I actually subscribe to the Post-Gazette for my local sports news. I think Ed Bouchette (despite some of his flaws) is qui

I think it depends on how convoluted your splitting is. To make things easy, my friends and I tell a waitress individual checks up front, then the couples will tell the server "pay these with this card." That is much easier than s
