Depends: if you're small, then you might have low-hanging fruit and bigger conversion increases might be possible. If that happens to be true then measuring things is tractable.

It's pretty common for us to look at new vs. returning users and Etsy sellers vs. others (sellers are obviously really engaged users, and behave differently). Occasionally one group will stand out, but not in this case.

Yes, that's a great point. Although that test runs on our search pages, so 0.46% of that traffic is about 4,000 registrations. And the difference between 0.46% and 0.42% is about 300 registrations.
