I do agree, I think mostly car manufacturers are gonna make something worse, but it would be nice to have some more competition on the market as carplay and android something are also not good.

You try and make an app that competes with Apple wallet. You will very quickly find you can never have access to the NFC hardware. And you could not trigger your app when required.

I use photo sync for this, which was a one off payment. Of course you have to trigger it manually every few days because only Apple apps can actually work on iOS

But isn't the point that the number of times a c programmer thought they didn't need bounds checks and reality are very different. Also off by one errors and such. Rust won't let you make these mistakes

Yet they managed to do this for years for free when they had their walled garden up and and supposedly offered so much value to developers with their app store and such
