Neat. Ping me if you have any issues (hello@photostructure.com), please. Also: this release is coming soon: https://photostructure.com/about/v-0-8/

> I'd love something self-hosted You should try PhotoStructure. Self-hosted, runs on desktop or headless or docker, and auto organizes your photos and videos into datestamped directories using whatever pattern you want. Disclaimer:

What aspects of your older work do you not like? Is it your "eye" (subject framing), or technical details (like nonoptimal camera settings or wrong length glass), or something else? Thanks for sharing your other comments, btw.

Oof. Next time you need to renew, check the links from the msft authenticode dev website for ev certs. A couple providers are much less than $1500/yr. Also, when I got my renewal bill for something like $1500/yr for PhotoStructure

That's not my experience with a couple Google Pixels, using original quality. If you fetch your image via takeout or via the API, the image bytes are the same, but the EXIF headers have been changed. I've tried in both a standard

The gpio access requires a header cable routed out a slot in the base of the case. I have several pi in flirc cases, one is a pihole and one runs CI jobs (slowly) for PhotoStructure, and they don't get too hot even under sustained cpu

iPhone metadata includes several fingerprints that can be used to differentiate between different devices, including a serial number, uptime in seconds, and shutter release count (depending on the model of iPhone you have). (source: me exam

Google Photos isn't going to provide you with any authenticity claims, and metadata gets scrambled by both their "high quality" and "original" settings. If you want to make sure the actual, original image gets store

I wrote the original typescript bindings for objection. One of the library authors is a contributor to knex.js, which objection uses for query building. Both are quite nice. With either library, you aren't writing naked SQL, but someth

I've used photos on an external drive, but it must be afs+, and don't expect it to keep working past ~100-200k images. My frustration with photos helped motivate me to write PhotoStructure.

PhotoStructure has image comparison heuristics that is used for deduping, but would enable pairwise similarity grouping. I'd tried some transfer learning in the past to rank photos, but found it to be unusably noisy. I'll be tryin

Simon! This is great spelunking. If you're frustrated by Photos corrupting its own library when it gets > couple hundred thousand assets, or you want to not be tied to Mac hardware, you might want to try PhotoStructure. (It has robu

As both an open source author/producer and consumer, I wish more projects were forthright about: 0) known defects 1) when the author no longer uses the library themselves 2) the repo is abandoned and alternatives are not given There&#x

The past couple decades (really! see JPEG2000!) have seen fairly regular introductions of new lossy image formats, but JPEG continues to win due to: 1. widespread support 2. "good enough" compression Formats that compress better,
