Hi! If you were a sociologist, they'd called this a "generational gap in behavior norms." Greybeards would mutter something about "getting off my lawn" and "kids these days." Old people are used to people

That would help. I'd also make the teachers be the moderators for their class, so they can take responsibility and handle requests to un-post stuff. (I wish I had multi-user auth and album-level permissions ready for you!)

I think the effort is noble, but before you suggest to anyone else that you'll host it, I'd suggest you find a third-party cloud provider instead. (Know that I'm the author of a commercial, self-hosted photo and video library

I think you're fighting activation energy. I'd find a way to make it cheap for you (in time and energy) to iterate such that the one-off content that you're providing can be used as stepping stones to a paragraph, and then a

You're absolutely correct. I'm not ancient enough to say first-hand. I know that threaded replies in BBSes in the early 80s at least coincided with usenet threaded replies. I didn't have a proper email address until years lat

For a concrete example of what 100x feels like, importing digital camera imagery into a gallery in 1999-2000 was on the order of 10-15 seconds per image (for a ~2 MP image, which was current state-of-the-art for resolution). Multi-core and

I'd hesitate to discount the value of photos. Photos have quite-accurate GPS and frequently-accurate compass heading. Add face detection and you have location tracking for everyone in frame. Online tracking is valuable for ad targeting
