That's a great policy. It doesn't completely remove time or energy from the HR/hiring manager at Atlassian, but it clearly outlines objectives of working with recruiters with a very real, tangible penalty for spamming. Nice.

While I agree with your concerns, I think you are overestimating the level of concern the average user has for privacy. I imagine power users make up a far smaller chunk of the user base than 1/3.

Good interpersonal skills are a crucial part of most teamwork. The judgment here might be a bit over-the-top (referring to candidates as "serial killer"-like), but the idea of weeding out a candidate due to bad interpersonal skill

Agreed. Same would go for any stand-ups you held with your team, and whiteboard design sessions, and more. It's like you're out the lunch if you're not emailing or updating things on project trackers.

The order of items changes as you make more (or less) frequent use of each section. This has happened for a while, now on Yahoo.com. I don't think it's too presumptuous to think an infrequent user may want entertainment and sports

I had APCS around the time they were winding down C++ and ramping up Java. We had to implement BigInt, among other things, as part of our project (circa 2000). I believe the next years my friends had the fish simulation.

Entrepreneurial folks -- younger ones especially -- are more apt to take the risks or shirk the responsibilities you list. Not everyone will have those responsibilities and many will grant themselves the flexibility to try their own busines
