Yah. It might write a better TL;DR, but it will always be a tool engineers use. AI is a bubble if you consider the end goal of AI to be a 1:1 replacement for humans. AI is not a bubble if consider the more likely end goal of AI being just a

I thought it was less about the data and more about the control China had on what Americans saw, and how that could influence Americans. If China could effectively influence the American populations opinions, how would that not be bad?

If this was true salesforce is in more trouble than any engineer. Why? Because if AI is really all that then entire companies like sales force go away. All the customers who use sales force would need to do is hire one of these laid off e

A thought. What if we have judged the healthiest of a society on the wrong metrics. And the right one is birth rate? We might say things are bad for a society if it’s too dangerous or not enough food so the birth rate goes to near zero and

My grandfather was a radar operator in WW2, on a ship that was hit and damaged by opposing forces. He told me stories of how they would make barges that would float off the side of the ship, where sailors would go to drink torpedo juice. He

No. I am saying that companies should have their engineers understand why k8s works and make those reasons an engineering practice. As it is today the pattern is spend a ton of money moving to k8s (mostly costly managed solutions) in the pr

The thing that the k8s api does is force you to do good practices, that is it.

Most of the complaints in this fun post are just bad practice, and really nothing to do with “making a Kubernetes”. Sans bad engineering practices, if you built a system that did the same things as kubernetes I would have no problem with it

Yes. Because it lowers the chance compound risk. The longer you go without stressing the system the more likely you will have a double failure, thus increasing your outage duration. Simply put. You don’t want to delay funding out something

This. I can’t tell you the I bet of times things worked because the cache was hot. And a restart or cache invalidation would actually cause an outage. Caches must be invalidated at a regular interval. Any system that does not do this is he

These are the very arguments I get all the time. 1) I want to invalidate caches, I want to know that these systems work. I want to know that my software properly handles this situation. 2) if I have lazy clients. I want to know. And I want
