Here's a funny module I wrote that lets you very easily configure your NixOS server to serve simple CGI scripts over HTTP, useful for simple web hooks and such. https://github.com/lessrest/restless-cgi It's a

Just a note: with a normal installation, NixOS will basically never compile anything on your computer, unless you customize a package or use a very recent revision of the package tree that hasn't gone through the build server yet.

Oh no, laziness! Someone is doing something in an easy and convenient way that somehow doesn't match up with other people's ideals of conceptual purity! :'(

Teens also have this horribly annoying tendency to go on the internet and find other points of views. Like, I remember finding that essay where Carl Sagan explains how sensible cannabis smoking helped him appreciate art and music, gave him

There might also be some risk of psychological damage when you use a criminalized substance that has anxiety as a common side effect. For example, it's easy to see how that could make you a bit reclusive. So anyone who's really co

Secure proof-of-stake is a huge topic in blockchain research! It won’t have the same characteristics as PoW—worse in some ways, better in others—but it’s not like nobody’s thinking about it.

Coming up with a convincing argument for individuals to adopt locally subsignificant choices—a new, credible golden rule—might be something for an entrepreneuring philosopher. It’s the same problem as getting people to vote...

The author is using "free software" in the free software movement sense: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_software Audacity is free software, but DaVinci Resolve is merely freeware.

Some months ago I got a kick scooter, non-electric. I use it every day, except occasionally the bike is more practical. It's a lot of fun.

Just do a symbolic execution of the code and prove that your intended behavior holds. A multisig contract is an utterly trivial program. It is easy to prove correct.
