I went thru a course on lateral thinking (and other things) at my work, years ago based on the books by de Bono. My natural mindset apriori is this kind of stuff is bunk, but i must say, i found the process to be pretty useful. The main pre

Our teams fully embrace ZeroVer versioning. Since we all agree ZeroVer versioning is superior, we have dropped the leading zero from our version numbers and know that is just implied to be there. We are all happy and rejoice!

Swift might be the most important of the newest languages. Of course there's a new language every day, but swift has a significant user base and is still under 10.

Aren't almost all of them old at this point? The numbers of people using what most people would count as new is pretty small percentage wise.

i got to say, the one prominent black guy in the model seems more robotic looking then the rest of the people. It kind of jumped out to me too. Maybe it's just that he's so close to the camera.

I'm not saying that's what i believe. I don't believe a soul exists, or could exist. But I'm saying that's what billions of people believe. It doesn't help to redefine away a problem.

No of course not. However, changing a definition away from what billions of people believe doesn't seem productive. If you want to talk about attention, cool, but call it attention. Most religious people don't consider the soul to

does anyone really think that humanity will be here in 200 years? 500 years? I think that's a real stretch. There are 100 ways we will go extinct, and we don't care about any of them.

sorry, you are incorrect. Gnosticism/Agnosticism are, for all practical purposes, useless terms. Gnosticism is what you know. Theism is what you believe. The two words are splitting hairs, the difference is just the level of certainty.

I think many religious people would disagree with your definition. That's the problem with any discussions of the "soul". It is poorly defined.

For a god to have value to humans, however, that god would have to interact in some way with the natural world. Those things can be detected by science.

atheists don't say there is no god. At least the general definition of atheism. Only that there is no reason to believe that there is one.

our company actually encouraged people not to come back. they literally said that productivity went way up during covid and work at home. I suspect they also want to close offices to get savings there.

I don't know the answer to this question, so asking, are more 'willing subjects' for these kinds of things, men? Or do equal numbers of sexes show up for qualification as study targets and only men are selected?

You need to evaluate verifiable facts and come to conclusions. In discussion regarding two sides, A against B, you don't just say well each has it's good points, each has it's bad, we have to be fair and balanced. No, this is
