While I realize its not 'apple approved' it is very easy and cheap to build an extremely powerful 'hackintosh' as long as you pick the correct hardware. See http://www.tonymacx86.com/

My thought is that this is really most useful for CSS and the transformations that SASS/LESS are capable of are relatively mundane in comparison to CS -> JS. In addition I only see this as a tool for development, not something that I w

You can, sort of. Right click on an element and choose "edit as HTML" and you can add whatever you want, granted it offers no reasonable formatting, its just a wall of text, not even tabs / line breaks. It is also broken in that when you do

This is a big request: Improve "design in the browser" capabilities. i.e. pushing CSS/HTML and maybe JS changes made in Dev Tools back to the source files without manual shenanigans in the middle. I probably waste more time copying CSS / H

I'm definitely not one that thinks credentials / college matter for most software developers (or frankly, people in general) but setting that aside and looking at what options exist: I think a big part of the problem is the irrationality of

The only difference between what you've described and what is going on in this adaptor is the inclusion of h264 decoding. The use of this is an argument that can be had (personally I think it was a great play on Apple's part, see my commen

MHL is an option but it only fixes the number of pins issue. It has the same problem as HDMI out: you need a transceiver capable of multi-Gbit data rates. You also have to get the video output to the transceiver. Its not the easiest thi

I wouldn't trust any data I particularly cared about to exFAT. Its a non journaled file system with only a single FAT and free space bitmap in most implementations. i.e. its fairly easy to corrupt and very difficult to recover.
