That benchmark is just showing job overhead. That Sidekiq can do nothing 7100 times a second only matters when overhead is significant, i.e. when your jobs do almost nothing.

We had major issues with scaling InfluxDB. We use clickhouse (graphite table engine) now and it is more than order of magnitude more resource efficient.

We have mostly moved off mongo at this point, there remains a single tiny mongo cluster running with a handful of collections that aren't worth the time investment to move at the moment. Almost everything moved to PG. The abstract issu

Most practical applications using Clickhouse for metrics data store the metric index separately. What index you want really depends on the metric system, e.g. with graphite data you don't want an inverted index, you want a trie.

Clickhouse has a table engine for graphite. We've used it for a couple years now after out scaling InfluxDB and working around it several times. Clickhouse works _extremely_ well for graphite data, it can handle several orders of magni

MWI replaces the spookiness of wave function collapse with the spookiness of quantum decoherence and adds in an equally spooky universal wave function. Whether this is simpler than wave collapse or hidden variable interpretations is an almo

If you place a detector in front of (or behind!) the slits the wave function collapses and there is no interference pattern. This is all part of the mystery of it, as soon as you 'observe' a particle, in any way, it stops acting l
