Also from semantic point of view expressing which methods you are expecting to be overwritten in quite handy.

Another solution, which seems to be missing is to use function pointers; process_image could receive a pointer to given function instead of n. My experiences with gcc show, that functions passed by pointer are often inlined, which is not re

At least for me, today's xkcd [0] does much better job at explaining the problem. I wasn't able to see gold/white before seeing it with dark background. [0] https://xkcd.com/1492/

Thanks for the reply, honestly I haven't thought about Google as web developer. Another point that I unfortunately missed is that if Apple implemented Pointer Events in WebKit, then the changes could probably be ported very quickly to

OS X is also missing, isn't OS X a relevant platform? Of course both are relevant, they just went for the most popular platforms first, plus FF OS, which probably was a kind of low handing fruit due to its HTML5 apps.

It seems worth noticing that this is more political than technological argument. Google choose not to implement Pointer Events and used Apple as a scapegoat. I'm not happy with Apple's decision, but I'm even less happy with

It is still possible that they use flash as default audio source and fallback to HTML audio if flash is unavailable. Although of course it would be better if they could get rid of the flash altogether.

Theoretically Malware.exe could be able to replace (or alias, or provide a convenient shortcut on Windows' desktop) the Firefox binary with one, that does not perform a certificate check. It is hard to protect user from something that

I guess it can be won back if you convince people that calling programmers hackers and hackers crackers is hip now. Once we achieve that we can focus or more serious issues like naming Linux GNU/Linux :)

Actually JavaScript seems to be used more commonly for Sailfish apps. It is supported out of the box as Qt/QML allows you to use either C++ or JavaScript. Here is a simple sailfish app built with JS (not my project): https://

I've spent couple of months in southern California and I was using my Jolla with a sin card, that I bought there (T-Mobile). It worked without any issues, also I didn't have any problems with roaming using my European sim card.

I think the parent meant only a sum type, not a concrete example of it such as Either of Haskell, which would surely not suffice here. In Haskell you would probably define a new sum type for this occasion, e.g.: data ForkResult = Fail

This is happening because all numbers in JavaScript are IEEE 754 [0] double. +/-infinite may be returned for finite, non zero number divided by zero. This is also common behavior in many other languages with support for IEEE 754 floats
