I don't know what material it is exactly but it is a mesh, and suprisingly thin and flexible. Your idea of an active fake-chip is really nice, it could actually work (on non-encrypted content).

Very good. I made some tests, back when I was at the university. We had a Hardware Lab with Radio-Test Equipment and RFID Readers/Writers. I have this one: https://shop.digitalcourage.de/thema/stoprfid/rfid-nf

Yep, thats about it, besides some hackers and hipsters, I don't know people over here who would even consider this. FYI, I didn't do it, I have a metal casing, that works as a faradays cage, to counter unwanted RFID emissions.

I am using the setup you describe since about two years now. I mean, my Arch-Linux machine is bugging me off sometimes, especially when a update cracked something, and I have to downgrade again. But everytime I read news like that, I am gla

The sad thing is, no one cares. There hasnt even been a public debate about a government with 80% majority.

I want to give you a little context here, because I assume most non-german readers will be unfamiliar with netzpolitik.org. netzpolitik.org is a professional blog about politics in the information age, financed mainly by donations. They rep

I consider beeing coerced to use a limited set of services (for some functionalities) a huge disadvantage. It is a question of control and autonomy over your systems. Do you have control over your machine, or is it the other way around? >

Good, point. It is also noteworthy, that drug-tests are not as precise as people might think. Most of them look for traces of metabolic byproducts of a substance, not the substance itself. There are some (legal) medications, wich can indica

It probably depends on the way the teaching is done. My interest for mathematics for example has developed at the university, before that, I literally 'hated' it, an that is mostly the fault of bad teachers, not the subject itself
