This happened to my old gaming PC as well. I looked into it and it mistakenly installed AMD Firepro drivers during the update instead of the correct Radeon drivers... Had to manually install the correct ones

It may not be for Google phones but I fully believe the researcher is correct with the basis of the article. I have the Galaxy S8 (locked to a US Carrier) and updates are a shitshow. Extremely high impact vulnerabilities (such as BlueBorne)

In Netflix's case I think that's the point. A ton of their originals had terrible ratings. The new system doesn't display ratings anymore so their originals look better.

Ditto for me. SFO2 has been extremely reliable. Every few months I'd get emails about planned router updates with the possibility of high packet loss for 10-15 mins but it never occurred.
