I love this mission. From a science point of view it’s probably good to send similar and well tested rovers to Mars. But to me it gets boring. I think NASA used to get a lot of fascination from doing the seemingly impossible like flying to

I have seen cases where the big guys gave things away for free or super cheap to get rid of the competition . Oracle and MS definitely do that.

It's much easier to develop a product if you don't need to make money for financing the development. Selling is also easier if you can afford marketing budgets and sales people. As long as they are losing money they are basically

There probably is but it’s really hard to compete with a company with deep pockets. That’s what I find pretty worrying about these unicorns. They kill a lot of potentially good smaller businesses just by being able to burn a lot of money.

"Kinda makes me think that a lot of Unicorn style world domination or nothing, result in some business orotundities being lost if those are the only two options." I think a lot of companies are doomed because of that attitude. Com

Let’s not make this a one or the other thing. Dirty rivers are at least as bad as global warming. We can’t focus on one environmental threat while forgetting all the others.

They already have the Air to be lightweight and thin. Makes sense. But there are plenty of people who need a portable high power laptop so it would make sense to have a Pro that has plenty of connectors, is powerful and doesn't need to

This is highly personal. Best would be to have an IDE that shows the concrete types if desired by the user. In VS you can hover over a variable but permanent display would be nice too

"Wonder what Europe is doing differently than us. Are we having more pedestrians on our streets and roads?" It's definitely about being used to it. In Munich there were pedestrians and bikers everywhere so you quickly learn t

"Meanwhile, in fairness, the Mac is actually a pretty great development platform. " Especially with the Macbook Pro they seem a little confused whether it should be a good dev machine or a super thin high end laptop.

Happened to me in Monza, Italy after the F1 race. A whole line of cars went down ever smaller roads until it was so narrow that only a bike or pedestrian could fit through. Getting 100+ cars to back up took a very, very long time.

"Swans are mean! " Agreed! When I was a kid we used to go swimming at a lake and there was a one-legged swan that terrorized the whole lake every summer. The other swans were bad too but this one was especially mean.

There also seems to be a deep American belief that there are exactly two sides to an issue. And if you find one of them wrong then the other is right automatically.

Being extreme gives people a lot of energy so these activists put a lot of effort into lobbying for their view. It’s hard to get centrists fired up to fight for their beliefs with the same intensity.

A lot of places have permissions you need to buy. If these are more expensive you get less people but I am not sure where the sweet spot is between less people and still making money.
