It was QMK that actually motivated me to build my own macropad (well, it was a rotary controller) which was ton of fun even though I was just following simple tutorials. But as a software guy, building something physical sourcing all the pa

How do I use it? Let me give some examples (from my current driver - 68% board): 1. The bottom left key (Cntrl) is L1. I chose it because it's easy to just lean on it by the side of my palm as opposed to pressing it which is a hard to

A QMK or a similar programmable keyboard. Often found in mechanical ones. I believe QMK supports 32 layers. So far I've only needed 4 or 5 but the boost in productivity is night and day.

Can you really configure to send from the forwarded address? From the faq[0] page: "When you need to both receive and reply to emails from a custom address, and unlock other professional features, upgrade to Google Workspace." [0]

Jonathan Creek is a great show, at least the first few seasons. I like the portrayal of Jonathan; calm and unassuming.

What's stopping them from charging the people responsible? Are the people so irreplaceable that they are effectively JPM?

Any specific reason to use FF dev edition? You can use your own addon with regular FF by signing it with web-ext CLI tool.

I don't consider myself old so not sure if this kind of answer appeals to a particular demographic but it doesn't induce any confidence in their service. Playful stance is ok as long as it covers fundamental questions but a busine

Thanks mate! Interestingly,The Simpsons was the show that sort of inspired me to build this site. I saw an image on reddit showing all the Simpsons episode ratings and thought it would be a fun idea to build a website based on the concept.

Thanks for the kind words. The use case you mentioned is the primary motivator for the site. That's especially useful for shows you want to revisit or new ones where sequential viewing isn't necessary (like Top Gear etc.)

Thank you. That's precisely why I built this. Yesterday I wanted to catch up on Season 3 of Grand Tour and guess which site I went to see what to watch!

Thanks mate. You're right, on big screens (< 5% of users) the empty spot is a bit of a concern. I'll try to add a gif of a demo. Honestly, this was a build, automate and forget type of weekend project. So I forced myself to sto

Thanks mate. I wanted to build a no nonsense site and think I've achieved my goals for the time allotted for a weekend project. The architecture is dead simple. Multiple times a week IMDb publishes bare bones datasets. I've a bash

Don't know if this qualifies as cool but I built a single purpose site to list IMDb ratings of all episodes of a TV show in a grid, which runs on GitHub Pages. It doesn't use any external APIs. https://theshowgrid.com

Mullvad is great. They are from Sweden, not Switzerland. Not sure if anyone else does it but you can just mail them cash anonymously to get started.

DT770 80 Ohm is fantastic. Although I wonder if 32 Ohm would be a better option since 80 Ohm needs an amp to boost the volume. It was just not loud enough for me when connected to my Mac.

Question for people in the industry: Is it too hard to include a separate audio track that's more suitable for home use where a better emphasis is placed on dialogue?

When I was in the mark for a decent DAC last year, I settled on JDS Atom DAC. Cost $100 I believe and seems like their support is good. Though I don't have anything else to compare, it seems good so far.

I love this approach. As someone who generally asks a lot of questions, your first round would give one a good idea if it's worth proceeding to other rounds or not. BTW, are you guys hiring?

I enjoyed reading that. Feynman doesn't sugar coat things. I also recommend "what do you care what other people think" book. The second half covers Challenger investigation wich is quite amusing to read.

I've been thinking about this. How can we get good ads without extensive tracking? I've been blocking ads as long as I could remember, mostly because it's annoying and/or irrelevant. However, I'd be down to see ads

I use https://www.goatcounter.com/ and I'm very happy with it. It's open source and can be self hosted. Since there's no user tracking, it's GDPR compliant out of the box.

This sounds very cool. I recently thought of another approach for song recommendation due to necessity i.e.: based on how a song sounds. There are genres but they're way too generic. Other methods like similar artists, what else people
