When people use a service like this do they bake test runs into the build? Typically in CI I might build and then run tests, but with this service my resulting docker image is in the depot environment. Do I build and then download the image

Since your data is append-only have you considered something like just sticking all of the data in s3? Might be awkward to deal with things like updating threads, but just editing the s3 file containing the json response for a given thread
