I don't see how that's even possible. A $3bil cash infusion is going to increase prices and create need for more product. The US can't just make a deal to buy opium at a fixed price every year. It sounds like a slightly more

I feel like whenever I read discussions about this on HN it's all about the JS engine. Chrome was on webkit but used V8. And unless something has changed all non-safari browsers and webviews use an inferior JS engine. Edit: (Something

Why would they do that? They have competition, even if it doesn't seem so obvious right now, and a larger percentage of nyc's cab market share seems much more valuable. Especially if it's so easy for them to raise money.

Lock the body of a site by default? I can see when I'm scrolling. Position fixed? What about when the modal content is longer than than the scroll area? There are animations for me on mobile. :)

For all the usual discussion on HN about sample size, confirmation bias, FUD, survivorship bias, etc... I'm surprised to see so many personal experiences gaining upvotes. There are certainly quite a few linked studies and supported arg

Why are new features and change inherently a good thing? In my experience building consumer products "feature creep", and "unnecessary complexity" are the enemy. Not lack of features and frequent updates.

#3 is the biggest offender for me. The feeling of "well, I'm scrolling, but nothing's happening. Am I doing something wrong...oh there it is" can really throw off an otherwise positive content experience.

They're likely not working with the R8 because their self-driving capabilities are a marketing tool to compete with the likes of the Mercedes S-Class. The R8 is also at the end of its product life-cycle so they're probably trying

Partially addressing 1 and 2: As someone who has had Lyme and writes software I can't imagine how we would even get 10% of the way there on #1, and #2 just sounds like a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Reddit took on patient diagnosis.

I'm sure w1ntermute knows this. The common complaint about apple is that they're not expanding/diversifying their business more with their available capital. Not that they're doing nothing with a literal pile of cash.

We started out with no-login, but without the ability to save emails and have some kind of session persistence we ended up with a lot of abandoned conversations. It is pretty much no-login now, you can just send an email and go, even if you
