Also, check out Google's in-development Carbon Language, designed to address the same issues with a Kotlin-like approach. It's an entirely new language that could interoperate with existing C++ code/library. https:/

Given that we run PHP on the edge, what is the point of running the PHP interpreter on top of a WebAssembly interpreter (Wasmer) instead of just running the PHP interpreter directly? The latter will always be faster.

I tried migrating my Linux setup script to Python, but the sudo thing is quite hard to solve. Either I have to grant the whole Python process sudo privileges and manually change the ownership of all touched files, or I have to spawn a sudo

So many critical components in our system are maintained by just a random good guy on the internet. I can't help but think of another XZ crisis that is yet to come. https://xkcd.com/2347/

Some users reported experiencing a delay of ~6 hours before receiving verification codes from GitHub. By the time they receive the code, it has already expired.

IMO hidden APIs are not quite safe to use. As a user, you are susceptible to be banned by the service when they find out that you have another active session in another country or city. Some users on Reddit reported that they get suspended

I know it is a matter of choice, but why was MySQL chosen instead of PostgreSQL? The latter seems to be more popular on Hacker News.

Heard the language a few years ago, but haven't seen any apps built with it yet. How popular is it within the GNOME community? What are its advantages over more popular garbage-collected programming languages like GoLang?

Everything else works fine for me, but the stories I shared 18 hours ago have vanished. On the webpage, Instagram's API returns a 502 error when I try to view them.
