From what I've seen so far, I don't really see a lot of interesting thought here. The things said here are interesting in comparison to the outside world, but once you read for a while, you realise that you're reading the same old shtick ov

Curiously? No, not curiously! YOU picked them. OF COURSE there is a startup doing something you feel there is a need for. YOU are the judge! :)

Well, personally I believe that it is a fundamental flaw. It's a minor issue, but it IS an issue, and not a question of philosophy. You should label the box so that it's clear that the bands in that box are the bands that are in your town r

Whoah. That's pretty good stuff you got there. Just one gripe - it's really not obvious that the bands I am seeing listed there are the bands in my town. Did you get yc rejected or accepted?

The thing that should be causing you the biggest stress is that you are stuck on a bad idea. Move on.

Every single idea is derivative. Many successful products are simply about taking something that exists and then changing its focus or its look. That's what he did, and he did it for bloody cheap. If you read the breakdown of his costs, you

For a guy earning $20.000 a year, it may be a waste of money, but for someone at Kawasakis income level, it is a more than acceptable risk. He does not need to do much, and he has created a very popular site, established his name, and gener

Dude, if you are not willing to take advice, you will not progress. Your software is too complicated! You say it allows one take notes. Well, how in heavens name does one do that? I do not see a button or link. This is why a lot of these yc

All I'll say is this - Auctomatic is a really bad name. It's a name that really does not scale. Maybe in English it's half way passable, but try that name in any other language. First of all, it makes no sense (you lose the "auction"-"autom

Why would you do something as silly as force people to watch a flash video to know what your site does?

A very bad idea. I was shortly in the commercial software market, and nobody pays $5. It's too small to make it worth the bother of bringing out your credit card. Price $20 or above, else you won't have sales.

And WAY too much text all over your site. One simple command is all that people will read. If you want me to recommend a designer to you, I can do so.

Dude, you seriously need to hire a designer. It makes all the difference in the world. Bad design will make an excellent product flop, and yes, your site is badly designed. I hired a good romanian designer on rentacoder for $160 and he

I'll tell you. You ignore your public. You write technical essays about engineering or social things, but you never address the people you want working with you. You never write a blog entry that makes you (or any of the other founders) lik

Frankly, I'd see why they rejected the site. It's an excellent idea, and I'm sure it will work if you guys really exploit the entire social thing - i.e, force people to invite other people. But it's an idea that is already out there, which
