An example I can think of: Imagine you sell "Webpage designs" online, vs "Wordpress themes". Your wordpress design site will get listed on design sites, you can get added to the theme section of wordpress.org, lots of people will search for

You know what we should do? Get a hotdog stand, then set up shop right outside where the conference is happening. Then when people get hungry, they come out for hotdogs, and we'll be like: hey, it's mrshoe and maxklein from news.yc, so, wha

You really think that unbiased data for an issue as complex and multi-layered as this is possible? There is never going to be a paper that proves once and for all that the best people to hire are white american males. So don't talk about "w

That's utter nonsense. The reason blacks and hispanics are not employed in silicon valley is that there are not as many skilled in IT blacks and hispanics as there are from other races in the United States. Whatever the reasons are, it is a

I assume you also believe that mafia films are glorification of criminal behaviour, war films are teaching our youth to become heartless soldiers and old cowboy films are promoting ethnic genocide. How about we have a single point of view i

I like mixergy and think that the interviews are great. But I still believe that this monetisation strategy is a strategic mistake. The reasons are these: 1. I've seen a few of these interviews being done online by others. This game is a wi

I got only one thing to say, but it's the simplest and most powerful concept I have ever learnt: If you have 4 things to do, and you do them one after the other, you will be fastest than if you do them all at the same time. If each task tak

A lot of us saw this coming. In my opinion, the reason is not really that Apple wants to ban sexy apps, it's more than they want to keep the AAAA Big Boob apps out of the store. Those style of apps have really been becoming a problem, and i

I don't think Chairman Hu sent a note to the company guard to kick a reporter in the leg. This was a guard who was just trying to keep his job, and did something in the moment. It's not a big chinese conspiracy against shins.

Police in china are there to keep the peace. Not to uphold rights. The U.S mentality is one of justice - if someone slaps my child, I have to have justice, imprison them, take them to court, etc. The U.S police will also encourage you to do

First of all, Foxconn is taiwanese company, it's not run by the china that the U.S seems to be on a big PR push against, it's run by the other china. Secondly, this factory is in the most competitive and cutthroat area of mainland china,

Is the 250k+ bracket for a paid app or a free app? I have a free app that is top 10 in its category, and we have 1700 downloads a day on iphone - so it would take me 150 days to reach 250k, or 5 months. How does Android compare?
