There is irony in "wanting" something: achieving it depends on different qualities than what starts to ramp up once you are strategically trying to get what you "want". Suddenly your perception does not come from explora

I have no idea what you guys are up to, but it is just a job, it is just a role, it says nothing about you or who you are and it is not tied to your meaning. If you make it so and your perception is aligned with that, then you are not in co

I have no crystal ball, but I feel uneasy when they change basic rules about indizes right before these IPOs. There are a lot of retirements on the line just by this fact. Maybe big tech gambled too close to the sun and found a way out? Whe

I think the author was reading too much into these questions. I bet these people came up with random questions they thought were deep, especially coming from a mental health lens, but struck a nerve in the author. They essentially weren&#x

I really like this analysis. Considering this is written for america, a lot of these points somewhat apply to germany. Over here homeownership is pretty difficult. I put that decision away until I'm 35 or 40 and absolutely have to stay

The article is clearly AI generated and I was assuming the author was using AI to write from the perspective of the guy Tarus helped out. Seems like it is a real story, but using AI to write this article over dramatically is a very odd deli

I like this clear divide of: Zig bad, rust good You bad, ai good and then some random posts in between that try to create some hot takes for upvotes. What is the internet at this point?

I use Gitea in my NUC, hardware was used and cost like 50 quids. Has been running for 3 years! If you lock it down so that it is just available in LAN and no internet, it is a solid, timeless experience.

This still promotes metacognitive laziness later down the road as the doctor can hand in something quickly and rely on AI to close that gap.

I don't think AI is a good use case for such critical situations. Maybe in a decade we have AI help out doctors with doing a pre check. What if Ai finds nothing and the doctor does not bother to look into it further? It is this small q

I use AI when its free, but very sparingly when I try to get some sample code. Paying for that thing seems like an insane concept to me. I'm really glad it never became integral to my skillset or day to day work. Seems like a lot of pe

I use a self hosted Gitea instance and it's very simple. I was also surprised when Zig moved to Codeberg and had a big blog post about it, but now over time I start to see the reasons materialize in reality.

I highly agree. Let us stop talking about software dev and look behind the curtain a bit... I want to point at the discouraging framing of developers who learn to be helpless whenever they are stuck in an organization for long enough where
