I got the feeling that the game was remade from scratch multiple times only a little of the main plot surviving each remake.

I believe changing the arrow to a plus (or another symbol... circle?) that would change colors (highlight?) when clicked would fix the "no feedback" feeling.

I agree, this will only make unscrupulous users create new accounts to get more attention to their links (if they don't care about karma).

I agree, it would make more sense to also have discounts on the books.

If you don't want to grok SQL you can always try NoSQL which is basically (for most engines) documents made of key-value pairs in collections.

These driver problems on laptops aren't uncommon, specially regarding graphics card drivers.

The interface seems decent, much better than a run of the mill forum interface. That already would be a plus for me.

Bad idea. Never, ever, give a job out of compassion when the only reason is sympathy. You will end up frustrated with a worker that doesn't bring much and your friend will also end up discomfited with a job that doesn't fulfill him. Be a gr

Perhaps they changed their focus to the addons from the apps. Maybe they are relatively making more money with the addons than with the apps and decided to focus their strength on that?

That doesn't work so well either. :) The solution is teaching the kids, not hide/lock away the problem.

The problem here is not the internet. I mean, this is the same as if a kid found a gun and shoot their best friend while playing, and this happened way before internet existed.

I believe it's because most laptop vendors (besides Apple) think of touchpads as a "backup". Meaning that you are supposed to use a mouse and only use a touchpad when you have no option.
