I love the story of Fallout. They decided to use nuclear reactors on cars because there as a lack of petroleum. It was too late though since the Great War started (and ended) a couple of years later.

I love C# but I can't use it with the ease of deploy that node.js has on only having a single executable. .Net Core is getting there but it's still pretty new compared to the battle-tested Node.js

Yup, I use this all the time. They even, recently, added support to multi-use cards with bigger expire dates. I wonder how hard would it be to make a startup like this.
