I think stories of entrepreneurs can seem biased, because those are all success stories on the whole, but if you dial down deep into all of those stories you can hear from the entrepreneurs of the years that they struggled and the years the

I did not mean to lump all depression into one boat, and while I personally do not know that kind of deep long-term depression, I do know the kind of that effects entrepreneurs. There are so many ups-and-downs that it can be hard to weather

Depression is a hard feeling to cope with, in the moment it seems like it will never go away, but the truth is, that it always does. One of the things that helps me in the short-term whenever I get down as an entrepreneur is watching videos

They aren't all co-registration sites. Some of the examples are CPA (cost-per-action), where submitting email, taking phone surveys, submitting zip, etc generate revenue for the site owner.

I don't see the harm in them trying to help wanting people connect with a useful service that solves their needs.

I think as long as you are providing valuable and relevant information to the user, that it is fine. In this case, AirBnB connected people who were looking for renters, to an excellent service that furthered their goal.

Great article, but in your Craigslist section, you could mention how AirBnB used Craigslist to get their first houses listed http://davegooden.com/2011/05/how-airbnb-became-a-billion-do...

Website is a great place to host content, but they still need sources to drive traffic. They should be using all of the platforms to drive people there and then capture their emails and other data.

The power of owning the channel is a huge advantage, I wish more people understood. Email marketing used to be the best, but email read rates are usually less than 20% and it's over a few days. There is a better medium to build an audience

It's well known that many people manipulate followers, retweets, video views, fan page counts, like, shares, SEO results etc to make it appear as if a given candidate has more momentum than they really do.

I've heard that NYC had an incredible trolley system where you could get anywhere in manhattan in about 10 minutes. Such a shame that cars displaced true public transit solutions.

I don't think you will really have too big of a problem, people are so distracted by all of the other ideas being pitched. I participated in at the last Startup Weekend in NYC, and out of little more than 100 people, 60+ of them presented t

While it is nice to see Facebook has no qualms about shutting down features, it is also problematic for people who build their businesses on a platform that is constantly shifting it's policies and features.

There are also similar therapeutic effects from taking mushrooms (psilocybin) or LSD. In these studies and others with MDMA, it appears that the effect lasts over a year. ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2012/jan/23/magic-mushroom... )
