TDD in what language? It's all about workflow. So if you're using java, you should get familiar with mvn and the junit lib. If you're using NodeJS, then you need to do something like mocha and grunt. TDD gives you insane test

this article has a big cringe factor. the "tech lead" codes and leads. this idea that it should be a strictly managerial position is pretty gross, and seems like it's an ego thing.

Cool; I did something like that with NodeJS a while back for an art project. I made this node package to facilitate it: https://github.com/internet-research-labs/instagram-realtime event-drive, object-oriented lib fo

Yea, interruptions are annoying, but you have to learn to get good at them. Communication is the most important part of large software projects, and denying someone knowledge is just going to make the workplace unproductive. Obviously there

The discussion about H1B's is becoming so polarized. As an Engineer, I want to work with other good engineers <period>. You can really good talent from abroad - or you can get really bad talent that costs less. So it's not b

Super cool; training game players is super appealing to me as a math-software-engineer-person. My babble: if DeepPink can gage its uncertainty on a move, it'd be cool to see a hybrid system in-action. Plus, "DeepFish" has a c

I'm all for programming slowly, but how many pieces of code are built slowly, and, in the end, turn out to be built wrong or cumbersomely? It seems like, if you write slowly, you gotta have legitimate deliverables and tests at every st

Yes, I meant border-bottom in conjunction with line-height. It feels more connected to the idea of "underline" than adding a line-gradient.

Frontend JS is so hard to tame, and it feels like everyone has such varied and strong opinions on it. I'm with the author on continual shake-ups in frontend dev, but maybe with better support for DOM stuff, and framework agnostic depen

I love the idea of combining this with the idea of proving code. Like, "how can I prove my approach 'shuffles' an array?" ... I mean, just because it looks right... doesn't mean it is.

The world of technology and art is amazing right now, because it's like we just discovered linseed oil and are seeing people begin to create the first oil paintings. There maybe some work to make it more... relatable? or communicable?
