This is a great point and a really hard problem to solve. Do you think a Wikipedia style team of human reviewers with upvote/downvote capabilities can help reduce the SEO spam? Obviously it’s hard to review the reviewers as well but Wi

I'd bet that they had most ports blocked and the attackers used multi-stage tunnels. Details like that probably just don't make it into a Wired article.

Why don't companies like AirBNB who have a lot to lose (reputation wise) from a (small?) number of scammers sue those scammers into oblivion? Not only are they violating the TOS but they are committing fraud, and likely breaking a few

Many people here (myself included) are anti-FB due to privacy issues and then some, but I think this is pretty great. The smart camera panning using facial recognition looks very useful. Right now I Facetime a lot with my iPad and will prop

I thought they just partner with Bing for ad results - not that their search was a skin of Bing. Wikipedia supports the ad partnership but also doesn't say anything about Bing being responsible for their search results. And on the few

Right. You could also compile it yourself with the same chainset / toolset the Krypton folks use and compare the binaries. There's probably a way to compare everything but the digital signature with two binaries too... Not sure

Kiosks should be fine - I think you've missed some details on what is going on. The update won't lock iPads that are unlocked. If a kiosk iOS device is "always on" and never requires a passcode, then it it won't ev

My cursory research into this topic (this morning...) lead me to believe inkjet printers may be uncompromised (not printing steganographic dots). The NYTimes believed this to be the case as well back in 2008 ( http://www.nytimes.c
