I would say look here: https://www.npmjs.com/browse/depended Look at what people use a lot and knock out open issues on the repos (at least those with clear contribution guidelines).

They also have more serious issues such as the fact that they will only buy animals that have been killed with gas pretty much ruling out a large portion of locally sourced meat and I'd say that is far more important than not being abl

It is "whining" that godoc has to output at a max width of 80 characters because many people apparently still use that as the terminal width. I, personally, do not and can see his point.

Haha, well if your threat model includes the government I'm fairly certain we're all screwed.

Yes, I am using it and no, I am not worried. If someone were to break through my webservice and then break out of the Docker container they'd be on an AWS Elastic Beanstalk container that doesn't even have public keys for SSH on i

I don't think anyone will be willing to say yes or no. Just don't count on something being 'unhackable'. AFAIK there are no published flaws in S3 static hosting.

I ran my personal mail server on DO for about a year or so without issue. I would definitely try a new instance--I didn't even know this was a problem.

Having used Node.js recently for a high volume service my feeling is it is best for lots of network communication.. but not long running or CPU/disk intensive operations. So, we're slowly transitioning to a Go backend with a sli

Ah ok, gotcha. As I have to maintain a few legacy PHP servers.. I would strongly recommend you take a look at NGINX + PHP-FPM replacing Apache too so you can simplify the stack a bit. NGINX is pretty awesome as a reverse proxy (as you must

I'm not sure I'd go that far. I'm not into Rand yet this is quite nice to see. I think it's been a bit too long that we've had a lot of politicians making laws about things they don't understand and while this

As much as I'd love to say "rewrite all the PHP in Node too" :-) yes, your description will work. After a few years in production it seems to me that Node's best position is right between the browser and the backend. Tra

How is it mislabeling https? HTTP over TLS is still HTTP over a secure tunnel.

I guess I'm confused about your stance. What is your suggestion? Stay on SSL 3 because TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 have issues? Are there any known issues with TLS 1.2? I'm not aware of any.

I don't think this is universal as it hasn't applied where I work. Without understanding how promises work they are no easier and it doesn't help that many things exists that do not use the standard .then() and .catch().

I simply haven't had the time to upgrade some but others are running on Elastic Beanstalk which is capped at Node 0.10.26 believe it or not. For newer things I'm running io.js 2.x and patiently waiting for the first merged release

As much as I leaned toward the merger (running both in production sucks ) I don't think people thought he was being serious--obviously he had to know what io.js was. Instead of being humorous it comes off as somewhat smug and ignoring

If you are quick with cURL maybe it's not--it's just a matter of preference. I, on the other hand, can take quite a while to type out a cURL request with 4 custom headers and a long JSON body. While I spent most of my day at the C
