I had a sister with a severe mental disability (Rett Syndrome) who died at the age of 17. A very wise, (and very broke) parent of another girl with Rett Syndrome explained to us that if you have a problem that money can solve, you don't re

So many developers underestimate the need for good, quality visual design and aesthetics in their work. In my experience most non programmers evaluate something first on how it looks, and if it doesn't look good, they won't be interested i

I think PHP suffers from some of the same issues that VB6 suffered from in terms of inexperienced programmers. With VB6, someone who was not as much of a programmer as we all are could write themselves into a massive mess. I have found wh

I am not a lawyer, but you should consider incorporation and separating out your personal affairs from your business affairs. Not only is it easier to see what is going on, it can provide you with the other benefits of incorporation.

Yeah, I decoded the two final words and came to the same conclusion as you. I will check out my next few boarding passes and see if any patterns emerge.

Congratulations. Although the items here on HN tend to end up on the work side, of the work/life balance equation, its nice to see an article like this and a comment like yours to help remind me and everyone here that there is a great deal

No remote control (yet). Remote control + group would almost eliminate the need for GotoMeeting or WebEx for me.

I am looking forward to the time when Skype has cross-platform group video and screen sharing. I don't use gotomeeting nearly as much for one-on-one screen sharing, but need to bring it out for mutli-party screen share.

I agree with the parent comment 100%. You can always learn how to sell later when the stakes are not so high. For now, you need someone who knows what they are doing and will land your more business at a higher margin.

Is there anything like Authorize.net CIM in Canada? The CIM piece is awesome because you don't store any credit card information on your server, which takes all the PCI hassle out of the equation.
