To build a common strong knowledge. The thought that people are solving a problem I've already solved disturbs me. It's also true vice versa.

There is a limited amount of workers you can run with 512mb of memory (max 3 for my application) and the random routing can overload one dyno while the others are doing nothing. Basically you have to scale and pay more when with Digital Oce

On Heroku I was using thin that forced me to scale horizontally to handle more than one request at the same time. With this setup I can set a number of unicorn workers bigger than 1 and I'm done. I can scale vertically until I can and then

Author here, I updated the article; now a user called "deployer" runs the app. Turns out it was easier now than when I started with the migration.

I've tried their service a few weeks ago, but they had a problem related to my particular Gemfile so I abandoned it for the moment. Their product is great and I'm sure they will iron out these small bugs, but for now it's not a valid option

First of all I didn't know whether to provision my machine with root or not. Scraping through sysadmin resources I found people installing Ruby with the "deployer" user and people using root for that task. When I tried installing Ruby with

Sharing something beautiful you did will always be a need. I am talking about serial, massive sharing. Every share is the same. All the food pictures on Instagram, all the places at the beach on Foursquare are shared mostly to brag. When th

I agree it may be in its infancy but so many of the startups I see (among the ones that fail too) are all about sharing and nothing else. A joke that turned into viable idea[1] is emblematic. Foursquare started like you say, but I'd say it'

This is awesome news. With this release Play has reached a level of maturity and elegance that will definitely make me consider it for my future projects.

I'm wondering if the reasoning that you should build a startup based on your own needs is applicable to ideas that have already been solved abroad and will not be imported in your country for some time. We don't live all in the Silicon Vall

I agree with you that the experience could be better for the casual user, in fact we are publishing an update in a matter of days to allow anonymous questions and to move the "login" phase at the end of the process. Thanks for your feedback

You are welcome to ask that in our FAQs! Today we support english and italian and we will have a spanish translation soon (sorry I can't be more specific than that). We know this is a priority and we'll be working on it as soon as possible.
