Do you also test famo.us on low-end smarphones ? The famo.us videos I found show smooth results on high end smartphones like the nexus 5. It would be interessting to see if we can the same performances of low-end smartphones. About the slow

Building a single page is just the step 0 of building a native apps. Rendering the DOM efficiently is another issue much harder to solve.

Thanks, the demos are amazing on Chrome, but slow on firefox 29. I guess they will fix it in the next release. The physics engine is impressive, but I hope it will add not to much code complexity. Let's see next month how are the first

It is starting to takeover my mind too. My next app will be definitely in html5. There are many good articles and videos explaining how to manipulate the DOM efficiently (which is the main bottleneck of web apps I think). http://

A nice usecase is named parameters, usefull when a function is taking lots of parameters, or when the order of parameters of the same type can be switched by error : fun(iod(arg1_ = 1, arg2_ = 4)

The slight difference is that the order of the arguments is stated in the api of the library (which does not solve the problem though). The problem may be solved by passing an iod as single argument: fun(iod(arg1_ = 1, arg2_ = "foo

Except that it is a bit less error prone. When using std::tie, your have to know the order in which the argument are returned, and you will have bugs the day the maintainer of the library will change it. With iod, you code does not depend o

It is in the C++14 standard: For every init-capture a non-static data member named by the identifier of the init-capture is declared in the closure type. This member is not a bit-field and not mutable. http://isocpp.org/file

I have no idea if it is in the standard, but this actually compile with gcc 4.9 -std=c++1y auto obj = [ x=1, y="foo" ]{}; obj.x; obj.y;

Amazing :) I did not know that you could access lambda capture expressions. This can indeed reproduce parts of iod's features. However, this syntax does not provides static introspection, and does not support nesting properly : auto ob

Yes, the goal is not to replace C++ classes. But I believe that there is cases when passing an object without having to declare a class can save time without impacting the readability of the code. The other big advantage of this construct i

This is thanks to the C++11 variadic templates that symplifies (a lot) the writting of such abstractions. The object model is only 100 lines of C++11: https://github.com/matt-42/iod/blob/master/iod.hh
