Why? Lots of people would rather do a little themselves to get the price down. Why should your preference dictate how everyone does it? And it varies from market to market what's the norm. For instance for cabins in Norway, the norm fo

You've never seen hotel staff clean a room, lol. You'd be surprised.

Wait, your point is that those paying their cleaners well, above the board and with a contract should go out of business? But those paying cash, no taxes, low salary abusing people, should remain in business? What an insane take.

My cleaning fee is for washing the bedding, mopping the floors, wash inside the oven, was inside the refrigerator, vacuum all floors, wash all floors, clean every surface, scrub the shower, scrub the toilets, clean the sink and mirror, etc

And they've done it. As long as these expectations are spelled out before booking, it's not a scam and completely fine. If a renter doesn't like it, just don't book.

You can't do that on airbnb. You can only set a flat fee and a nightly fee. However, in my market customers only see the total, calculated to an avg nightly price. So it all works out and is fair for everyone.

A hotel with 100 rooms can average. Me with my single room can not. If you don't like it, fine, just don't use it. But pricing it to what people actually use, is fairest for everyone.

How would you make that work? I rent out our cabin. If you stay 1 day or 7 days, it's the same amount of work for me and same costs in cleaning. That's impossible to price fairly without having a flat fee. In my market the custome

I agree that charging a fee can be fine. For me it's often a win-win. I spend less time having to go there, and the doctor can spend less time than an in-person visit and even do it on some down-time. But it's still a service, so

FWIW, it's also easy to claim HN is biased, because people are biased differently, and HN is close to global. As a northern european, I for instance would say that I often find HN trend conservative, compared to the discourses in my co

It's interesting, and a bit concerning, that it's so hard to control LLMs from doing things you don't want it to do. Sure, I don't like LLMs censoring stuff. But if I were to build a product using LLMs (aka not a chat se

My positive anecdote proved that Elm is usable in production, which was the FUD I was refuting. Yours were irrelevant in that context.

I disagree. I don't care what elm maintainers should or shouldn't do. It's not my problem, so that's not a question I want to ask. I'm curious about why the same few, a vocal minority, spams every thread about elm w

Now you're moving the goalpost. You said it was impossible to use in production. Which is clearly wrong.
