Triplit is pretty opinionated about how things get stored so it doesn't work with existing SQLite schemas. We support basic `like` operators for searching but are definitely interested in supporting full text search. If you want to tr

Yes that's pretty much what we're going for. I'm less familiar with DynamoDB Streams but we're taking inspiration from Postgres triggers https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/sql-createtrigger

RxDB is just provides clientside querying and a sync protocol. Triplit is full stack in that it's designed to run on both client and server and will "just work" out of the box for end to end syncing, querying, and persisting

Yep exactly. We also include a [Set CRDT]( https://www.triplit.dev/docs/schemas#set ) you can add to any entity. In the future, we'll have an easier way to accomplish what Matt did out of the box so you can create r

We're working on exactly this. You can already do this with Triplit but it's challenging to make an out of the box solution because each framework passes context/data different from server to client differently. There's

[I work on Triplit] Currently, You can accomplish this by pull ing from Triplit with either a JS client that just subscribes to each collection or with the REST API but we're currently working on a way to define custom "triggers&

Yes great catch! One of the inspirations for Triplit's name is exactly from our use of a triple store under the hood. Datomic also has been a major influence in how we've designed the internals of Triplit

I think our goals are pretty similar but Triplit offers more flexible storage options (Durable Objects, IndexedDB, SQLite), deeper Typescript integration, and is probably a good deal simpler to operate--we are closer to Firebase/Firest

Your app might not need it but if you want partial replication or relational querying in addition to offline-first syncing then check out https://github.com/aspen-cloud/triplit (disclaimer: I'm working on this)

I love the simplicity and kinda wish that was actually built into Chrome. I know it would probably break things but if Google could automatically sync local storage and IndexedDB when I'm signed into Chrome on all my devices then a lot

Hey HN - Triplit is designed to make building collaborative and local-first web apps a lot simpler. It works by running an instance of TriplitDB both in your client-side app and also on the server then efficiently syncs any queries you run

This is cool. I like that it makes it super easy to get data into the database rather than having to meddle with schemas in advance. Looked through the documentation briefly but couldn't figured out how selecting nested properties or f

Yeah you can subscribe to overall changes to the data on a row by row basis but can't subscribe to an actual query. Many apps and libraries imitate reactive queries by just refetching all queries from Postgres when any data changes or

Can you share how y'all made it fast? Obviously it can be made fast because multiplayer online games are living proof but I'm curious what it takes to get there or what's missing in my mental model.

Not a dumb question at all! We're aware of cr-sqlite and I've talked to the author, Matt, a few times. Short answer: SQLite has serious shortcomings when it comes to reactivity and we think we can be as fast as SQLite for the appl
