Alas, wheels are terrible for providing anything but a Python API. If you have headers, compiled tools, or some other complicated SDK, good luck (NumPy is excepted here because it only ships headers this way and chooses to live with wheel l

Same here. I can handle chaining conditions and narrowing things down, but once there's a De Morgan's filter on the thing, there's just too much state to juggle because what's in front of my eyes is not a refresher for w

The comment I was replying to seemed to have the idea that `git hooks` could replace actions. Maybe I just read too much into it.

I'm vegetarian and I get asked how I like these "meat replacement" things often enough. The thing is that I just…don't like burgers, steaks, etc. so these are basically of zero interest to me (e.g., every veggie burger I

I suspect they think it means that they store things in `/etc` on the host machine? It seems to just be a place they stuff things though: https://careers.twitter.com/etc/designs/careers2-twitter/pub...

Yeah, I feel like we work in completely different realms of programming. Which is fine; there are plenty of languages out there for all kinds of use cases. FWIW, pre-allocation absolutely doesn't work when you support loading GB-size d

Impactful ? Probably CMake policy CMP0053[1]. Improved performance of CMake configures by 30%-50% depending on how intricate the code was. While not done yet, getting C++20 modules to compile via CMake will probably eclipse that. [1] http

When I'm working in Git, Go, or Linux code, Vim (and NeoVim) uses `expandtab` in conjunction with `softtabstop` and converts any `tabstop` spaces into a tab (with `noexpandtab`) regardless of whether or not it is "alignment".

▲
by

While that may be true, "spaces for alignment" is nigh unsupported by all editors I've seen. They insist on replacing 8 (or N) spaces with tab even if in an alignment region. int foobar(int a, ___________int b) // s

I have tmux anchored to ~ because I hated new shells inheriting random cwd states. Instead I have a function to cd to "bookmarks" with an easy way to add to it and completion.
