It might be a good time to take a vacation. If there isn't a lot of pressure for deadlines. Some time off can give you more perspective. It seems like you are lethargic because the role is easy for you. If you like the place, and you w

It's true that the company might dilute your shares, but that also dilutes everybody else's shares too. The greatest risk is the company won't be successful and your shares will be worthless.

It's an interesting analogy, but employees aren't cards. One important difference is that employees get better over time, assuming there is a decent culture of communication and mentorship. Maybe you hired a 7 of clubs, but given

I think the human interest story is sadder than you realize. In addition to being a gambling addict, Delany is also a Jets fan.

Another way to look at this is that 2^ 33 is about 8.5 billion >>> pow(2, 33) 8589934592 There are less than 8.5 billion people in the world, so you could just create a map from each person to a number in the set.

> Queues are an inappropriate construct for managing work. I disagree. A queue is used to assign priority to a project. When there is more work than people to do the work, you need to prioritize and triage. Just because there is a queue

That seems pretty productive for an IC. If you are spending half of your time writing code, that's pretty good. You seem to be driven and a self starter, which is why you feel like garbage when you don't hit deadlines that you

How does a subprocess deadlock happen in Python? Why would this be specific to Python, and not caused by deadlock in general? I agree that 50 lines of bash is generally more maintainable than 200 lines of Python.

This seems like an architecture issue, rather than a framework issue. At some point you need to split these 400K and 40 devs out into different applications. Different application should not be able to access each other's database, bu

Even if you don't agree with the coding practices, at least it enforces consistency throughout the code base. It might not be the consistency that you desire, but it much better than every author having their own style.

Yes, you are correct. All of the Californians should sell their over valued houses and move to Oregon. There is no sales tax, and you don't have to pump your own gas. I hear that Bend is nice!

You should take a few days off. If you are in the US, there is a holiday coming up. It doesn't appear that they have anything pressing for you to work on. Take a day or two off for yourself, and then start looking for another job.
