I think the author largely agrees with your beefs, since he's proposing this as a client-side and server-side rendering solution. > I've thought for a long time (and blogged about it previously) that the ideal solution would

Neat! If we didn't have this feature, we could still apply the style to lang=ca elements and reset it in lang!=ca elements, but this is more readable and avoids cases in which resetting is nasty.

As I understand it, this rule primarily targets extensions that do sketchy things without their users' knowledge, like how HoverZoom recently started silently tracking their users. This feels like a good policy to me, and I'm not

If it's important that your extension not be hosted on the Web Store, Windows users can still install it as an unpacked extension and perform updates manually. But it's definitely designed to be much more of a pain.

It's on a BBC blog, anyway. It looks like they have a very small set of blogs, which is nice, but it probably didn't go through the same editorial process as standard BBC articles do.

It's meant as a defense against non-targeted bots—the ones that roam the web looking for forms to fill out. I think that's where the issue lies: these tools do different things. Honeypot fields defend against general bots. Captcha

Naming conflicts aside (what if your definition of "empty" doesn't match some other part of the code?), consider the `Array.prototype.empty` example. You extend `Array`, then some other bit of code anywhere else in the envi

Python's Counters can also be compared directly. No need to drop them in a set; `Counter([1, 1, 2, 3]) == Counter([1, 2, 3, 1])`.

Two important Python notes: 1. `is` really shouldn't be used for string comparison. It checks object identities rather than string equality, which is broken here for two reasons: first, because it depends on the interpreter to keep one
