That's how it was in the 90s... please look at real estate date today :) Cities generate the tax base and subsidize the rest. This is shown in every case. It's not good or bad, just a reality of how density works.

Have you.... even lived in a city? You see miles of idling cars in cities... do you think those are city residents sitting in cars? Those cars are suburban commuters. People in cities don't own cars. You know that right? The whole poin

Flutter's days are numbered - iOS continues to grow. More and more companies won't bother with Android given how poorly Google has managed that OS.

It's quite amazing how poorly designed Android really is. Every single part of that OS is poorly architected and have horrible APIs. What a shame.

So the government has the right to take your money to spend it building housing for someone else? "Housing is a human right" is a lazy, armchair argument that demonstrates a lack of understanding of the housing market.

What do you use the dock for? CMD-Tab is all you need. I do feel like the yearning for tiled windows or things like that are the result of trying to make OS X into Windows. Mac has Expose and virtual desktops - you don't need tiled win

You do understand that sprawl and suburbia (and car infrastructure) takes away from nature, not adds to it, right? We have paved over a huge portion of the country and that beautiful nature you so claim to enjoy.

Uh, building more would certainly work, as it would make those empty units stand empty for longer, forcing the owners to lower rent. That's... how it works.

I suggest you stop reading conspiracy books. Crypto isn't failing (and has no future) because of some shady conspiracy. It's failing because it's a bad idea that wastes energy. It's usage as a currency will never, ever h

Glad to see this silly crypto fad fade away. 0% utility, waste of energy, and has no possibility of every being used as a currency for anything. People will look back on this era and wonder what the heck people were thinking.

Certainly many people enjoy that type of life. The frustrating part is the one-size-fits-all zoning that has made it difficult to build anything but that type of community. It's illegal to build car-free apartments in many places bec

It really is amazing how poorly organized these things are at Google. 5+ name transitions, deprecations, broken features, logins, etc. What are the leaders at Google doing all day?

Kind of crazy all this effort is being put into just recreating something that has been around, and works fine, for 20 years. What a waste of resources.

This is laughably incorrect. USA prison population peaked in 2008. Dogma sucks.

Those purchases are less than .5% of the market. Don't let NIMBYs think that that is the problem. We need more housing.

Are you a housing planner? Do you have a degree in economics/market studies? Also, building apartments has a huge environmental impact? Ok?.... So does rural sprawl? So does... everything? There is nothing inherently more damaging abou

The virtue signaling is strong here. Humans have been eating animals forever. It played a large part in our evolution. It's a normal part of life. Wringing hands over it helps nobody.

Please don't use or support Flutter. Its entire existence is to replace the web and force more ads to people. Do your research.

Rent control has never worked. And never will. Corporate ownership of SFHs is so small to not matter. The house you live in shouldn't be an investment.

Android's dev team really does surprise me with how bad they are at building an OS. Every single part of the platform is a disaster.

Flutter. Remember, it exists so Google can ram more ads and tracking down our throats (and eventually replace HTML and an open web). Don't use it.

Huh? That makes no sense. The Swift API is init?(from pasteBoard: NSPasteboard) Which should autocomplete/hint while writing code. The documentation is in the type, not littered within the function name. Much more easier to re
