Search results are pretty much the same thing though. It's a ranked list of recommended videos. It's just based on your text instead of the video you're watching.

Same here. This is the exact reason why I will use Waymo before Uber now. I wanted to support human drivers but they let me down too often. I pick robots now.

Exactly. Break the problem down and interactively plan before generating code. I'm getting a lot more done than I could have without AI by using this approach with the agent.

It's not always easy to copy text out of tmux or a VM. Screenshots are easy to create and it's not as hard as you make it sound to type a name into the search bar in the IDE...

I don't actually believe that. I think it's entirely possible. What I'm saying is: "I don't know what consciousness is, it makes no sense." Even if a machine really is conscious, we don't have enough infor

There's equally no reason to believe that a machine can be conscious. The fact is, we can't say anything about what is required for consciousness because we don't understand what it is or how to measure or define it.

> Finally, people don't really care about the truth. They care about things that confirm their world view. Or they dismiss things that are inconvenient for their tribe and focus on things that are inconvenient for other tribes. Peop

Agree. People need to chill out. I thought there might be some discussion in the comments about the scam. Unfortunately, no. Complete waste of time to read and much more annoying than the original article.

There are body language cues that show you are thinking. Try looking up (like you're looking into your brain).

Is this data being collected for training sets? That seems problematic. I can't be the only one who's noticed that the web is quickly filling up with AI generated clickbait (which has made using a search engine more difficult).

This was my experience as well. 3.5 was the point where stackoverflow essentially became obsolete in my workflow.

You gotta start skipping a day sometimes or taking 1/2 on some days. Then you'll accumulate a reserve.

That's not the whole picture. There are less positions available where you tell someone else what to do and more competition for those positions.

The attitude of "I will do only the fun part. I'll create some barely workable code and expect others to fix it" existed long before AI code generation. Vibe coding is really enabling it to be taken to another level.

I don't see how this can be true when no one stays at a single job long enough for this to play out. You would simply be training junior employees to become senior employees for someone else.

I also use vim heavily and I've found that I'm really enjoying Cursor + VS Code Vim extension. The cursor tab completion works very nicely in conjunction with vim navigate mode.

It's not superfluous noise at all. As a user of the World Wide Web I personally find "click here" to be easy to quickly identify and understand. When I see the underlined "click here" I quickly know exactly what I n

The article is spot on and articulated my feelings exactly. I too became a loyal Apple supporter nearly 20 years ago because "it just works". Sadly, I no longer feel this way. The operating systems on my Macbook, iphone and iPad h
