By the way, this is one of the arguments for Universal Basic Income. If everyone starts with a base of having enough money to live a simple but dignified life then you can do things like eliminate the minimum wage. You eliminate that race

We talk a lot on HN about how easy it is to fool yourself into thinking that you have a real business. You might have the coolest product ever but if people aren't willing to pay your cost to produce then it doesn't matter - you

There aren't a lot of options when you need to have cars turning on roads with bike lanes. At some point the car lane and the bike lane have to cross paths unless you're going to build a fully grade-separated bike lane. I suppose

It's funny, no one thinks it's a problem to buy a stock and then go tell people good, truthful about the company to try to get the stock to go up. But when you short a stock and then go say bad, truthful things about the company

I noticed yesterday that you will get image results from YouTube but there’s no way to get the actual image it presents you. If you click on the search result it just takes you to the video. So I guess they need to start by enforcing the ru

The single market helps with physical media (e.g. DVDs) and the digital single market helps with electronic sell through (e.g. the Apple model where you buy a movie digitally and download it). But there are still two big gaps 1. Even for p

Are you saying it shouldn’t be legal? Or that the business practice doesn’t make sense? Let’s say you’re a French movie distributor. You know the French market, you know which movies will sell, you know how to market to French audiences.

That's how you drown. The feeling you get when you're running out of air is not because you are low on oxygen, it's because you have too much CO2. By hyperventilating you lower your CO2 levels to a point where you can run o
