These new policies should improve TSA recruiting efforts, at least among the pedophile fraction of the population. Anyone who thinks these stories are exaggerated should check out this collection. The consistency is impressive: http://www

Lucky for Apple's competitors they have Android, otherwise they'd really be up a creek. With the hardware volume purchasing advantage combined with the many-year head start they have on the OS, it will be surprising to me if any competitor

Utility vs cost not there. You still need to scan it one line at a time, not like a visual screen where you can see it all at once and focus on what you think will be relevant.

Startup concept: Think about this tiny trend in light of the unemployment situation in the USA. I imagine that most if not all of these offers are from people who are employed. What about the 20M (or whatever it is) who are not? If there

It is an ongoing story, the man is still imprisoned. If he had been released and nothing further had happened, maybe you could say "No discussion required".

Three weeks later and this fast food worker is still in jail. I guess in the UK there is no "innocent until proven guilty" and that's why some left to form the USA a while back. This story couldn't occur in the USA.

For the vast majority of games people play, there exists a computer opponent that can beat just about anyone. Go is an exception. Even a moderately experienced amateur can beat the best computer opponent easily. I think this says somethin

Why would that be worse than talking on a bluetooth headset in public? They do that all the time now. I think the idea of using the prefix "I wonder..." to trigger a voice operated search engine is awesome.

On the submit page, have a way to enter the URL and see if it has already been submitted, without having to devise a clever title. Once you are satisfied it is new, you then think about a title.

Amazon is growing, no doubt. They should have a premium on their stock price, but Apple is also growing rapidly and has a much smaller premium. Maybe Apple is seriously undervalued.

I've wondered about this. The explanation can only be that investors expect Amazon to continue to grow revenue and profits at a high rate. How reasonable is this expectation? I've always thought that the intense competition in the on-line

Couldn't you just as well say they announced the end of the hard drive, at least for portable computers? Hard drive capacity has so far outstripped the needs of a portable computer user I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier.

For something as generic as a law enforcement job or civil servant job, I don't see the potential for the problems you mention. Instead of two or three contractors and a murky selection process subject to under-the-table payments, you have

The argument "there are other problems in the world so there is no point in fixing problem X" is weak to say the least. If there are other problems you find after cutting the cost of government worker salaries by 70%, fix them next.
