Here is another thing worth sharing. Database integration tests on Bazel used to be difficult. Ultimately I've found an elegant solution: https://github.com/diesel-rs/diesel/blob/master/examples/

Here you go! https://github.com/bazelbuild/examples/tree/main/rust-exampl... I wrote all of those examples and contributed them back to Bazel because I've been there... Personally, I prefer the Baze

Have you explored building with Bazel? What you describe as a problem is roughly what Bazel solves: Polyglot complex builds from fully vendored deps. Just pointing this out because I had a fair share of issues with Cargo and ultimately move

VC backed companies love AGPL because it’s basically a poison pill that still makes them look OSS good. The entire blog post can be summarized as “we ticked all the boxes on paper, now pay us for looking good”. People, however, usually pay

I am currently working on a Rust project of about 70 crates that builds with Bazel. I ended up with vendoring everything because of very subtle bugs in rules_rust for Bazel that caught me off guard and seem to happen on non vendored deps. F

BuildBuddy. Google it. It's totally next level. My build is 70 crates, hundreds of unit tests, integration tests, multi platform docker images for two platforms, and everything is done in under 2 minutes, if it's slow(!). If I hit

I switched to Orbstack about 2 weeks ago after having read about it here on HN. I develop a cloud native system entirely writen in Rust. All my own containers are build without Docker thanks to rules oci in Bazel. However, for integration t

For sure, probably test it over the weekend. I've dealt with k8s virtualization before and as a result, my current system uses contextual auto configuration for all it's services which makes it very easy to lift it from one kubern
