I think differently. Required subjects are required not because they have tangible use but because it's worth to learn them as common knowledge. Literature, history, etc can all be argued as unimportant for sustaining your life. Progra

Surprised that Kaist is so far up there. While they are the best in science in Korea and they do have a dedicated team that practices, they still have very few students in undergrad.
