I think that a programming language that is easy for non-programmers to read might be easier to learn. When I learned Python, it took me significantly less time to internalize its syntax than with C.

I know next to nothing about patent law, but wouldn't prior art be applicable here, if the online service was publicly available before the patent was filed?

I am pretty sure that the vast majority of mobile phones do not support Telepathy. While your comment is interesting for people consider desktop Linux development, it is a bit off-topic in a discussion about mobile platforms.

The privacy policy and terms of service seem to be linked on the website: http://fetch.io/privacy/ http://fetch.io/terms/ I think their DMCA policy seems interesting, as it seems to ask copyright holder to mail notice of infringement

Do you have a citation to back that up? I do not know about publishing, but I can guarantee you that lack of Microsoft Office compatibility would have been a dealbreaker for several of the Mac owners that I supported when I worked in educat

I don't think that the services mentioned want to exclude non-Americans. All of them deal with music or video, both of which require country-specific licensing.

I think the point of the post is that good designers should be generalists. A good designer would read (or re-read) the iOS HIG in order to have a good idea of the platform's guidelines before beginning work.

From your comment, it looks like you think your primary goal is to find enough funds to get a short code. Couldn't you charge users a small subscription fee, either on a monthly or per-message basis, in order to get enough money to pay for
