The only reason why I even still have to use windows is because of Adobe Lightroom. But perhaps I will look for alternatives. There is literally no other reason anymore. Microsoft has ruined their operating system.

TCP doesn't take care of packet loss. What TCP does is make sure your packets are not lost, even if you have 99% packet loss. On the flip-side, that means that if TCP can't deliver a single packet (say out of a billion), the whole

> We can prioritize both, and frankly, life on Earth will be better the more we priotitize space exploration, not worse. This is a pretty baseless claim. Space exploration, within the next 50 years, will yield utterly nothing for humans

What exactly would you think a pro camera allows you to do? I have one (one that is 4-5 years older than my iPhone) and I am not sure there is a single thing it can do that I couldn't do with my iPhone12Pro or compact camera. Having s

It's definitely rich that US Senators are asking "Who the hell elected you?", while they are busy gerrymandering, suppressing voters and actively dismantling democracy.

If you put a Dutchman into the car, it's a flying dutchman. I don't see why they couldn't just use "Flying Dutchman" as name for this car.

Interesting, right? I wonder who actually reads all this filler material. If I can't seem to find what I was looking for on a website within one or two seconds I click back and check the next one. If everyone would do that, sites that

That anti-trust concern could easily be wiped out by giving non-Apple devices the chance to opt-out by paying a flat-fee of maybe 100$. Then they can say that Apple devices include this upfront cost already (which they kinda do, since they

Small? I guess the set of people who think that a lumpsum of 15k is better than higher salary, might actually be big? 15k is more like a rounding error when it comes to tech salary. I am not even sure this would make any difference if they

It really doesn't sound complicated to find, unless you just have a handsoff approach to building things and just don't care as long as "something" comes out on the other end. What makes me wonder however is this: 40 min

It's actually even worse than that. Functional programming is on pretty much all accounts FASTER than imperative programming by design. Imperative programming heavily relies on state mutation and branching. FP relies on immutability, p

Yeah that works for the first 1000 words perhaps. Then you run out of images to show. Many of the more complicated words simply can't be disambiguated by images. Learning words by translation is totally fine. The point is not to use th

Possible, but far reaching. There are other explanations: * We are a computer simulation (hence there is no colonization, we are in an experiment) * There are like 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 habitable planets in the universe. Just because so

The main difference though is that gravitation (probably) doesn't have a mass of its own, while EM fields do. Plus, matter does not react to EM fields in the way it does towards gravitation. I.e. light is not "pulled" by EM f
