I had seen the anomaly graph a month or two ago and it had confirmed my perception of Summer 2014 in the the upper Midwest USA (Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota). We had a relative cool summer; The temperature didn't even hit 90 de

You can do it with the VantageVue model he mentions in the article. The WeatherUnderground integration simply allows you to see your weather station in the WU app and website. I've had this page bookmarked for quite some time, wanting

The startup I've been helping out is using the Microsoft stack. Why? The exact reason you stated...when you already know everything there is to know about the .NET world, learning something else is time being spent that could've b

Same here. While it seems like all of my colleagues prefer videos, I can't stand how slow videos go. Maybe it's because I read faster than most people I know, but I'll take a solid book over videos any day.

Very cool. Kind of funny if you open it in something old, like IE9, just to see. Some of them are close, but none of them work 100%. Kind of like failing the old Acid test.

The links in your navbar fade to dark on hover, but the navbar itself turns to dark on scroll. When the navbar is black, you can't read the link text on hover.

Kind of disappointing that the new service is separate from the existing 'Safari Books Online' service. I'm grandfathered in to the $9.99 5 books/month plan right now. Jumping to $24.99 for a new interface hardly seems

...and that book can only be read on a Kindle-branded device. No iPad/Android Tablets.

Was wondering if this could replace my Safari Books Online subscription, and the answer to that is a resounding 'no'.

I've lived in Dubuque, IA (there's a picture of our shot tower in the article) my entire life, and assumed that everyone knew what these were. It's a iconic symbol in our city's history. I guess I took them for granted.

This is awesome. My girlfriend and I were just talking yesterday about our 2-year-old and how I want to write games with him once he's old enough. I begged my parents for LEGO Mindstorms when I was a kid but we couldn't afford it.

Thank you for this. It was part of a flash sale a few days ago and I missed it. Picking it up now. I used the trial a few months back and I LOVED it. It's a lot more work than using something like Mint, but you feel much more in contro

Really? I remember picking up LOGO in Kindergarten. Can't even imagine working with a real language back then. How old were these children and how did you go about teaching them?

I've found the 'OSX' tag on Apple.StackExchange to be helpful with discovering what you're talking about. http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/osx

My son, also two years old, can unlock iOS6. He cannot, however, unlock my Galaxy S3, which offers no visual "unlock" slider. It's insane how well a two-year-old can interact with touch devices.

We did. This is the first year they've offered this day off. Our clients are almost entirely in the public sector, so I'd imagine that our support lines would've been dead and our sales team without clients to sell to.

It's been in the Android Market for 10 months now. They've almost certainly seen it. I'm obviously not taking credit for what they've created. Just wanted an app that would allow me to use it full-screen. Thousands of others did, too. It's

Google+ launched in the 2nd half of 2011, no mention of it in the article, but I'd think that'd have to be at least partially responsible for that increase.

Make sure to make plenty of eye contact with the interviewers. Maybe it's my good luck charm, but when I remember to do it, it never fails.
